A new funding scheme for organisations and land managers to improve the water environment in rural areas was launched this year. West Cumbria Catchment Partnership submitted several project proposals to the fund and we are beginning to hear that many of them have been successful in receiving funding.
The multi-million-pound fund from the EU, aims to deliver improvements to designated conservation sites and meet Water Framework Directive objectives (keeping all our waterbodies in a good status).
